Squirrelly Bottoms!!

Muchkin needed another pair of Longies, and I didn't like that his pants didn't have shirts to match to make a "PJ Outfit" so I did what I do best --  went ahead and made it myself!  Here's the result!

   

The top is embroidered with a happy squirrel with a bushy tail, eating his acorn!

And the pants were made from an angora sweater -- super soft.  

I was actually able to get 2 pairs out of the sweater and gave the other pair away. 

The waistband is leftovers from another wool sweater that was the perfect color!

I found this one with the giraffe already printed on, so
I used it as the pattern and am embroidering over top of it!
Will be sooo cute when done!

This one is a simple whale outline.
I think my next ones will be an appliqued fish which I can embroider over the fabric!
And maybe some appliqued baby feet!!

Embroidered Onesies

Here's my progress so far on my embroidered onesies for baby...
I've finished 2 of 7!!
It takes me almost as long to choose which design to put on which onesie
and transfer it, as it does to actually embroider it!!
I ended up free handing the family!!

Family Christmas Fun

Well I hope you ALL had a wonderful holiday with family and friends!  We sure did!  

We travelled a lot to visit as much family as we could this year, 

knowing we might not be able to travel as much with a new baby!  

For Christmas we travelled to PA to visit the family farm!

Then, for New Years weekend we travelled to WV to celebrate with dad's family as well!  

2008 was FULL of many blessings for hubby and I and I'm sure 2009 will as well! 

Happy New Year to you all and we wish you unspeakable joy in the year to come!!

Mom had NEVER seen National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation...

She laughed soooo hard the whole way through!!

Here's our daughter with her reindeer ears!!  How cute!

Here's the stockings I made for Bon's kids, since I think she's done at 4  :)

I didn't take a close up of the applique since it was my first attempt ever!

The fabric was a green corduroy on red velvet, adhered with a white satin stitch!

 You can't see it very well but I also hand embroidered little holiday symbols in the 

upper left corner of each that I was proud of as they were my first attempts at 

hand embroidery ever, as well:  a snowflake, holly berries/leaves, candycane, and a star!  

What did I do while in Orlando!??

While hubby was in training during the days, I got to go visit the local 

Goodwill stores and start/complete some of my craft projects for baby!  

White Baby BLanket I've started for baby as an 

heirloom blanket for our family!!

Green Baby Blanket I've started for baby!

I found a site online that shows how to take old wool sweaters 

and make diaper covers, pants from the sleeves, 

and/or crib pads to protect the mattress!

I found this awful sweater, but LOVED the animals, 

there were 12 animals total.  

While in Orlando I was able to take the time to carefully cut all of them out!

I bought the monkeys (they cost more than the sweater!)

So baby's bedding will now be animal themed!  I'm so excited!

Here are 2 more wool sweaters I found in Goodwills!

This one is a 4 pc set that was 40.00, but of course I go it for 6.00!!

This one, if you remember, had nothing on it, 

but I thought it'd be cute with puppy buttons on the shoulders 

and the paw print embroidered in the center!

This one didn't have any embellishments on it either, 

but I thought the blue would be a nice backdrop for the sports buttons!!
